ATAGO PAL-22S

The determination of moisture content within honey is key to assessing the quality of this product. The moisture present within the determines its stability. Honey that is high in moisture is prone to fermentation and granulation. The ATAGO PAL-22S refractometer will determine the moisture content of honey at the touch of a button. The digital refractometer PAL-22S is suitable for fast and accurate determination of honey moisture in the range from 12 to 30%. Designed for professional beekeepers, honey producers, honey mixers, government honey inspectors or honey brokers.  In addition to the PAL-22S, ATAGO also has a combined refractometer polarimeter available: the RePo-4. The sugar composition of honey, and with it the specific optical rotation, depends on the botanical origin of the nectar. For example, honey with a high fructose content has a strongly negative rotation value (laevorotatory), but the specific sugar composition in leaf honey ensures a positive rotation value (dextrorotatory). This optical rotation can be measured with the ATAGO RePo-4.
